A group of Mothers from the Nest are collaborating with the Koesauqua city council to create safer parks for children of all ages. The Nest moms were brainstorming ways to improve their community and realized that many of them do not use the parks because they feel they are not safe. Parks and recreation areas are an important part of a helathy life style for children and the group believes that the ideal park will be a safe, friendly environment where all ages and all races can come together and have fun and share company

Classes have been established at the NEST to help students manage their personal finances.
Some of the objectives are; setting goals, developing a spending plan, how to manage credit, recognizing predatory lending, identifying sources of financial information and much more.

Bike Safety Program recruits donations and works with partners including; the Van Buren County Fair Association, Iowa State University Extension, Van Buren County Register, Lions Club, NEST program and Keosauqua Loop Trail Association and Safe and Healthy Kids Fair.

The adult mentoring program has offered some very successful programs for adults who have barriers returning to school. They have been able to secure resources from, Indian hills Community College, and Iowa Workforce Development.

The Youth Mentoring Program secured two financial supporters. The program received $10,000 from the Van Buren County foundation and $5,000 from the Community foundation and donations from the Riverview club.
